Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how GearScope LLC ("GearScope," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the HuntingCache mobile application and related services (collectively, "HuntingCache").

Information you provide

Depending on how you use HuntingCache, you may provide:

• Account information, such as your email address, display name, and authentication information.
• Inventory information, including item names, categories, brands, models, quantities, barcodes, equipment specifications, storage locations, notes, and optional serial numbers or other identifiers you choose to enter.
• Photos and scanned information you choose to capture or upload for inventory items, barcodes, or text recognition.
• Hunt records, such as hunt dates, locations or property/lake names, equipment used, observations, harvest information, notes, and optional precise location coordinates when location features are used.
• Communications, including support requests, feedback, and information you submit when contacting us.

Information collected automatically

HuntingCache and the service providers that support it may automatically process limited technical information, such as device and app identifiers, operating-system and app-version information, authentication events, diagnostic logs, crash information, performance information, and feature-usage information. We use this information to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve HuntingCache.

Camera, photos, and location

HuntingCache requests camera or photo access only when you use features such as barcode scanning, text recognition, or adding an item photo. It does not use the camera continuously.

Location access is optional and is requested only when you use a feature that needs location, such as recording a hunt location. HuntingCache does not require location access for basic inventory use. Precise hunt locations are private to your account and are not displayed publicly.

How we use information

We use information to:

• create and maintain your account;
• store, synchronize, search, display, and back up your inventory and hunt records;
• provide barcode scanning, text recognition, photos, analytics, and other requested app features;
• process Premium access and verify subscription status;
• provide support and respond to requests;
• maintain security, prevent abuse, diagnose errors, and improve performance; and
• comply with applicable legal obligations.

Subscriptions and payments

Premium subscriptions and other in-app purchases are processed by Google Play or Apple, as applicable. GearScope does not receive or store your full payment-card information. We may receive transaction identifiers, purchase status, subscription status, and related information needed to provide and restore Premium access.

How information is shared

We do not sell your personal information. We may share or allow information to be processed only:

• with service providers that help us operate HuntingCache, including cloud hosting, authentication, database, storage, diagnostics, analytics, and purchase-verification providers;
• with Google Play or Apple to process and verify purchases;
• when you direct us to share information or use a third-party feature;
• when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate fraud or abuse, or enforce our terms; or
• as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or part of the business, subject to appropriate privacy protections.

Third-party links

HuntingCache may contain links to retailers, manufacturers, app stores, or other third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Opening an external link may allow that third party to receive information normally sent by your browser or device.

Data retention

We retain account information and user content while your account is active and as needed to provide HuntingCache. After account deletion, we delete or de-identify associated personal information and user content within a reasonable period, except where limited information must be retained for legal, security, fraud-prevention, transaction-record, or backup-integrity purposes. Backup copies may remain for a limited period before being overwritten.

Your choices and account deletion

You may choose not to provide optional information or grant optional camera, photo, or location permissions, although the related features may not work. Device permissions can be changed through your device settings.

You can initiate deletion from within HuntingCache or follow the instructions on our HuntingCache Account and Data Deletion page. Account deletion removes your HuntingCache account and associated inventory, photos, hunt records, and other user content, subject to the limited retention described above.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. However, no electronic storage or transmission system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users should carefully consider whether to store optional sensitive equipment details, such as firearm serial numbers.

Children's privacy

HuntingCache is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 provided personal information, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as HuntingCache develops or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here and update the effective date. When appropriate, we may also provide notice within the app.
